Commemoration Ceremony at the Austrian National Libraryon on 1st June 2010On 1st June 2010, during a commemorative ceremony at the Austrian National Library, the President of the National Council Mag. Barbara Prammer, as Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Fund, symbolically accepted three of 8,363 books seized during the National Socialist era, the previous owners of which had not been able to be traced. The works were therefore transferred to the National Fund of the Republic of Austria in compliance with the Art Restitution Law, and the proceeds from their sale – 135,000 Euros – will be used to benefit the victims of National Socialism.
