Renate S. Meissner

born on 13 December 1959

Deputy Secretary General and Department Director of the National Fund.

Has been the deputy manager of the National Fund of the Republic of Austria for Victims of National Socialism since 1995 and a department director of the National Fund since 2001. Has also been responsible since 2001 for implementing the compensation of lease rights, governed by the Washington Agreement. Has been head of personnel resources at the National Fund and the General Settlement Fund for Victims of National Socialism since 2003. Has been the Scientific Director of the National Fund since 2006.

1995 University of Vienna, ethnology and judaistic studies (Dr. phil., Univ.-Lek.).

Was a staff member of the National Fund assigned to specific tasks from 1995 to 2001, helped to build up the organization, especially the design and implementation of the lead concept of tactful and considerate relations and contacts with victims. Responsible for recording the autobiographic life stories of victims, as well as for processing them from a scientific perspective.
