Full professor for corporate and economic law at the University of Vienna. Corresponding member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, chairman of the board of the "Übernahmekommission".

1975 professor for civil law at the University of Graz, professor for commercial and securities law at the universities of Linz (1978) and Vienna (1982).

Co-publisher of the legal journals "Wirtschaftliche Blätter" and "Zeitschrift für Vergaberecht und Beschaffungspraxis".

Since 2001 Chairman of the Arbitration Panel for in rem restitution.
